LAGOS, NIGERIA – October 2025 – i-invest, backed by one of Nigeria’s leading financial services providers, Parthian Partners, recently joined forces with renowned entrepreneur and Founder of House of Tara International, Mrs. Tara Fela-Durotoye, to host the exclusive “Building Beyond You” Post-Conference Masterclass.
Held in Lagos, the post-conference event drew over 300 physical and online attendees, including startup founders, seasoned entrepreneurs, and captains of industry. The intensive session focused on succession planning, legacy building, and financial separation, highlighting them as essential pathways to creating lasting businesses and generational wealth. This masterclass serves as a key part of i-invest’s commitment to giving back to its community of investors and entrepreneurs.
In her keynote address, Mrs. Fela-Durotoye tackled the profound emotional barriers often faced during leadership transitions. She stressed that fear, stemming from relying solely on one’s identity as a founder, is a major obstacle to a successful handover.
“Fear is one of the reasons why people don’t want to transition,” she noted. Mrs Fela-Durotoye encouraged attendees to approach transitions with both preparation and faith, emphasising the spiritual and mental foundation required for successful handovers in business. She shared her own vulnerability, admitting, “Transitions used to scare me. That space between what was and what’s next – it’s uncertain, uncomfortable and full of questions you can’t always answer.”
She urged business leaders to prioritize long-term, strategic growth over short-term gratification. “I would say, instead of gratification, let’s invest in our businesses, let’s build those businesses,” she emphasized, making the case for aggressive reinvestment as a cornerstone of enduring success.
Mrs Fela-Durotoye positioned diversification as critical for any business owner looking to protect and grow wealth beyond their core enterprise. By strategically spreading investments across assets – from money market instruments and equities to real estate – owners can significantly reduce exposure to unforeseen risks.
She advised participants to avoid relying solely on business income, instead recommending they reinvest dividends into revenue-generating assets and establish a robust retirement plan. True wealth preservation, she concluded, is achieved by planning ahead and building multiple streams of stability. Platforms like i-invest can facilitate this diversification with easy access to different investment assets.
Reinforcing the company’s commitment to its users, i-invest Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Tobi Olusoga, highlighted the platform’s rigorous compliance framework. Emphasizing security and governance, she stated, “i-invest operates under very strong governance rules. Not only are we PCI-DSS compliant, i-invest has ISO 27001 certification – the world’s best-known standard for information security management systems.”
Mrs. Olusoga further reassured the community of the platform’s strong governance framework: “i-invest operates under the strict supervision of the SEC, which makes us accountable to them as well.” These assurances underscore i-invest’s commitment to providing a safe, simplified, and fully compliant digital investment experience.
The masterclass, which also featured an insightful fireside chat with renowned business leader and Founder of Eventful, Mrs. Yewande Zacchaeus, successfully reinforced i-invest’s broader mission to empower business owners and investors to build lasting wealth through secure and user-friendly digital solutions.
